48h hackathon to save lives through innovation

48h hack

Come hack with us

Last year, in Gothenburg, thousands of persons were affected by traffic accidents. We know this, because ever since we at Länsförsäkringar started our journey towards a more sustainable way of living, we’ve collected every conceivable data related to these accidents.

This is why, in September, we invite the best of the best to come together. The brightest shining stars within data science, business intelligence and web development all focused on one common goal – to help us save lives.

During a 2 days hackathon, we provide unique data about traffic accidents to the ones it really concerns – the citizens of the west coast. Combine it with open sources such as pollution, weather, traffic information etc.

Now we need your help figuring out how to use it to create tools to make traffic and our streets safer.

Some ideas on challenges to address

How can we facilitate for citizens to make sustainable choices in their everyday life?

How do we create smarter cities through visualizing dataflows from traffic?

How can we make commuting in Gothenburg safer and more sustainable?

How can we make personal transport safer and simpler with a clear sustainable perspective?

Global goals

When accidents happen, you should get the help that you need. But the best accident is the one that doesn't happen at all. That is why everything we do is about getting both you and your things to last better. That is why we work with damage prevention at sea, in traffic and in your home. Therefore, we create products that ensure that fewer accidents occur. Therefore, we are constantly working towards the UN's global goals on health, equality, consumption and climate. Welcome to a life that lasts.
